Excellent paddle set Jun 19, 2009
By Seattle Man I've used several other paddle sets but these are the best. This design has the most intuitive 'water ergonomics' and they feel like a second set of hands to me.
Only drawback are the rubber straps that break after a few months. Poor design although Speedo includes replacement straps in the package.

Too big for beginners Jan 20, 2010
By C. Kinezos These were the first paddles I ever tried and they seem to be too wide for me. They are probably good for advanced swimmers but for your first pair it is better to try something smaller and perhaps contoured to your hand.

An inexpensive swim aid that is worth trying! Dec 14, 2009
By Mark D. Cerny The swim paddles were reccomended to me by a friend at the Y. I wanted to develop my flabby pecks. Over a year's time I'd say they're working! My wife has noticed a difference in my body. I'm on my second pair since the clorine in the pool water weakened the original rubber straps over time. I have used other brands but this Speedo model seems to work the best.
Good for upper body training Nov 21, 2011
By Johnny6 These are good aids for anyone who would like to improve their upper body strength while swimming. They are fairly large; they fit my husband's big hands quite comfortably. They can also be adjusted for those with smaller hands (like mine).
A word of warning - start slowly with these. You will have sore muscles the next day, so I would not recommend them for your full set of lap swimming the first day.
Didn't get exactly the same item Aug 16, 2011
By Rahul Gupta I bought the paddle with strip grips but I got a one with rubber wires. Also the color was red instead of yellow. Color matters less but rubber wires are a bit annoying (just a matter of preference).
It was not a big enough deal for me to return the paddle so I kept it. But still would have preferred to receive what I ordered.
