Really does filter out water Apr 18, 2008
By E. Resler I purchased two of the Mr. Funnel Filters: the F3C size and the smaller F1C size. The FC3 filter funnel has the filter raised above the bottom of the funnel so you always have about 3 fluid ounces of fuel left over in the funnel each time you use it. This design allows water and debris to collect in the bottom of the funnel without obstructing the filter. You must "dump the sump" after each use. The smaller F1C size does not have a sump area. I prefer using it to fill my lawnmower, chain saw or weed trimmer, since almost all the fuel goes through its filter. I tried putting water in the funnel and it will not go through the funnel. The funnel also claims to be anti-static. Nice design.

A valuable tool for any garage Jan 15, 2009
By koboilila At the very least this is a nice deep funnel; the addded ability to remove junk from the fuel is certianly a plus. It is a bit larger than I thought it would be, so I may pick up the smaller one as well.
The depth and straight high sides is nicer than the sloped sides of a regular funnel when pouring from a large can; you do not have the issue of it shooting out the other side from where you are pouring.
I have read, here and other places, about concerns with the amont of fuel left in the 'sump' when you are finished. I can understand if you use it at a gas station and have no place to dump the sump, but if you use it often at home or work, and you are concerned because the cost of fuel has risen to obscene heights again, try this: pour the remains into a small fuel container dedicated for the leftovers. After it has built up enough pour THAT through the funnel.
Some folks may not realize how much water may be in the gas they use. Now that alcohol is in so much of the gas at the pump you do not really see the water because it mixes with the alcohol; it acts just like dry gas. For smaller 2-cycle motors this can be terrible becasue the oil, which is vital to the mixture, can not mix with the water and over time those little pockets of oil-less fuel can cook your engine.
But even if you do not think that water is much of an issue for you, think about getting this funnel for just the peace of mind of having a good filter for your gas. You have invested in your power equipment; the weed wacker, snow blower, lawn mower, etc. Many of these devices do not have dedicated fuel filters and it just takes a little bit of junk getting lodged in the carb to make them run like garbage.
In my home garage I use three types of fuel: straight gas for the mower and snow blower, a oil gas mix for the 2-cycle motors, and Kerosene/diesel for a shop heater and I run all of them through this filter. It just makes for one less thing I have to worry about.

Mr Funnel as funnel Nov 01, 2007
By D. Foster Excellent Item. It removes water and debris from gasoline just as advertised. It has one problem, and that is if you were trying to fill your car through it at a gas station, you have to "dump the sump" and gas stations do not have a barrel for used contaminated fluids as the sump holds about a coffee cup of water or gas and debris. If you are looking for a funnel to fill your lawnmower or other small engine at home and keep water out of the tank this funnel is perfect.

These thing are great. Jan 16, 2008
By Hank Wegener I have not used this one yet, but I have used it's smaller brother & they are excellent for getting trash & water out of gasoline or other fluids. I travel a lot with my boat. I carry fuel in several containers & buy fuel in places I've never been. It is good to know, that when I transfer the fuel to the boat tank, I am sure I am not getting any garbage.

Mr. Funnel F3C Fuel Filter Jan 20, 2011
By ivinest I fly a light sport airplane which uses high test auto gas. It is imperative that the gas I put in my airplane be clean and free of any water or debris. The only way to get gas to the airplane is in gas cans, and you know how fuel can become contaminated when using cans. The Mr. Funnel F3C fits the bill and does exactly as advertised. It keeps the gas I put in my airplane fit to fly with, without worries of contamination... and when your life depends on it, how much more important is that? Thank you Mr. Funnel.
