Works well but not for heavy luggage Dec 13, 2008 By bobbyo
The strap is strong but the plastic clasp is not. We had two of these on a trip to Paris, and loaded our luggage close to the maximum weight allowed by the airlines. The plastic clasp broke on both straps. The clasp is not heavy-duty REI-quality high-durability plastic, so this is really not suitable for high-weight luggage.

This belt arrived promptly and was used for a trip almost immediately. It is sufficiently adjustable to fit very large bags. I had previously had to fabricate a custom strap, which TSA stole. The buckle latch prong material could be improved to provide a more positive latch-up and allow more tension in the belt when applied to the luggage.

This product broke after one trip.......very poor quality. I went to pick up my bag at luggage claim and their was MY bag the one that was dragging the bright red luggage strap....hmmmm.....would have totally lost if had not looped through my handle. Clasp did not break but the tightner part did causing it to fall off......cheap material.

Belt helps luggage survive ruff handling and makes it much easier to spot. Prevents zipper failure that results in contents of your bag being dumped.

This luggage belt has all the qualities and functionality that one would expect from this type of item. Not really much to elaborate beyond what other reviewers have complimented.

Unfortunately, I have to give it a one star review because of its very poor buckle quality. The belt was used on my last trip. It survived the way over, on the way back the buckle had cracked fully on one side, rendering it completely useless.

While a luggage belt will probably break after some months of use, this was way too soon.
