Great concept, decent design, very bad manufacturing Sep 09, 2007
By Maja_S I would rather give this 2 1/2 stars. When I bought this, it cost more than what Amazon is selling it for, so I have no idea if there are other sizes, or if there is some shipping math involved or what, but here is my experience: The size it seems to be is NOT the size it is. My larger cats tried terribly hard to sit in it, but only resulted in falling over and capsizing the light plastic bits attached to the bag, which, in turn, scared them every time. Also, it was no time at all before they managed to pull the feathers, balls and strings off the plastic arms, and what makes *that* more dangerous than disappointing is, they will eat those elastic strings in the heat of play and could easily die if the strings get caught up in their intestines. The bag also doesn't fit on the spokes well, so you end up stretching the plastic in a way that creates an imbalance. However, my cats couldn't wait to play with it while I was putting it together, and loved the crinkling bag. They enjoyed sitting in it after removal of the hard plastic portion. I would say the manufacturing makes it a very bad choice for larger and/or hard playing adult cats, but for kittens, I would recommend this product.

activity center is fun for cat, but cheaply made Sep 19, 2010
By A. Bogaev Well firstly, I would like to say that it is a pain in the butt to assemble. The instructions are on the back of the box, which of course my cat was playing with making it hard to read. Secondly, the instructions go the way of Ikea and only have pictures- poorly drawn pictures. It took a few tries to get everything facing the right way, and of course my cat attacking the toys while I assembled made things more challenging. The plastic bag that creates the hiding area was barely too small for the frame- I had to really pull to get it on and I wasn't able to use all of the attaching pegs to secure it because it was too small for the frame. I also had to punch new holes in the plastic because the prefab holes didn't reach the right spots. After I finally got it assembled my cat played with it for like 20 min. before the ball broke off. I retied it with the elastic it uses to attach it but of course it didn't hang as low because of that. We have had this product for about a week and a half and the ball is off again and now it is lost- or hidden by my cat. She still like playing with it when she is really hyper but I am disappointed in the product. I gave it three stars since she still plays with it, but otherwise I wouldn't highly recommend it.

Good Toy, some slight issues Mar 14, 2010
By Matthew Wokosin My cat enjoys this, and I only have one problem with it. The middle hanger for the ball toy comes off easily, and that takes some of the enjoyment out of this for my cat.

Get a box Dec 25, 2011
By Chris I purchased this from Walmart.
My cat weights about fifteen pounds and she had no problem fitting inside the bag. The other two cats were not in anyway interested in the toy. There are large breathing holes on top of the bag.
The idea is great and it is so simple to put together. I didn't even look at the instructions.
Yet, it wasn't worth my time and it wasn't worth my money. From the get go, there were problems. The first problem, which I didn't really mind was that the holes that connects the bag and the frame together didn't line up. Yet, it was very easy to create different holes. The pegs are extremely small so if you have small children or other pets that would chew on plastic parts or just swallow the things, I wouldn't recommend this product for your household. The pegs are about half of a cheerio size.
The other problem is that the bag didn't fit the frame. I took it apart and no matter which way I put it back together, it just didn't fit. I tried to pull the corner over, as you could a fabric but this is plastic so it tore. Instead of tearing it further, which was bound to happen if I kept trying to pull the plastic to meet the frame, I let it hang loose.
My cat had played with it for a few moments and walked away. It seemed she would be more interested in it if I just let the bag unattached to the frame. I could had made the same toy but more sturdier and maybe more interesting for my cat on my own with only three sticks, feathers, a box and nylon line.
