| | Description | The Grand Central Terminal offers the same classic GeoTrax play that kids love, now with the addition of articulated figures. There's so much to explore in the main terminal building, which is the central hub of all the action. There is an information area with a destination board, food and vending stations and an elevator with mechanical action. Drop cargo through to the lower level, or make your way to the train yard. Two platform areas -- one for passengers and one for cargo -- connect to the upper level by an escalator and conveyer belt. On the cargo platform, kids can lift and load cargo with the crane. Playset comes with a sleek, fast-moving R/C passenger train named Sonic, featuring two attached passenger cars, fun sounds and forward/reverse action. Also includes three figures: Sam, the conductor, and two passengers. All figures fit into the vehicles for a complete play experience. Comes with play cargo pieces and 14 pieces of Snap-Lock track for multiple configurations. Requires 6 "AAA" batteries, not included. Measures 43"L x 36"W x 11"H. | |

Great toy for kids off all ages Sep 30, 2007
By N. dittmer We started collecting Geotrax 2 years ago. My only complaint was that the trains did not go in reverse. I'm glad to see that 'problem' was solved with this new addition to the geotrax system.
I originally bought the geotrax toys for my 3 year old son who loved trains. He absolutely loved it. What I did not expect was that my 9 year old and 11 year old girls would also like to design tracks and play with it. It does take up a lot of room if you start adding on to the set. We have ours set up in the basement and it gets played with several times a day. My 4 year old is great a designing tracks, he especially likes to use the elevation sets to make double decker tracks. The system is so easy to use I don't have to help mush at all.
We also have a few of the Thomas train sets. I have to say the boys do like to play with this set as well but it requires a lot more adult help. The tracks can only go together one way and the boys now 4 1/2 and 3 have problems getting it together. But they do like the fact the the trains are the same as on TV. The Thomas set was used so seldom at home that we donated it to grandmas house where it is a treat to get to play with it. The Geo trax set still ranks #1 with my kids.

I wouldn't say this toy is for educational use but it is loads of fun for a child who loves trains. My son loves all his Geotrax sets and plays with them on a daily basis, including this one. This is one toy I don't mind taking up my entire living room!..............

BIG, FUN, DURABLE AND DID I SAY...BIG Nov 21, 2007

We bought this set four years ago when my son was 3. Now he (7 yrs) and his 4 yr old sister play with it together. Beware - it's big, but lots of fun. The kids use creativity to design the sets, but most times I'm down on the floor lending support. I also like that year after year the grandparents could buy the smaller track for a reasonable price and the kids were never disappointed. The neighbors, cousins, friends all gravitate to the set when they are here. We break it down every few days/weeks, store it in a huge storage container and it tucks away in the toy closet. Only one of the one-thousand pieces ever broke (it was our fault) and we glued it back together. Love this toy, but watch out. Some of the units were on recall for lead paint.

Great train set for a 3 year old! Dec 03, 2007

We bought this train set about 2 weeks ago and my son absolutely loves it. The remote control is easy even for kids who get easily frustrated. Assembly is quick and easy. This set is currently being sold elsewhere at a cheaper price with a free dvd included plus an extra vehicle and passenger. Do your price comparisons :)
