More grownup upgrade from the little Little People Oct 13, 2007
By Mama Fox My 3.5 year old had grown bored with her other Little People toys (bummer since we have so many), when she spots this in the FP catalogue and had to have it. She has played with it everyday for the last 3 weeks and even combines it with her beloved Diego toys - finally giving Diego a playmate :) The girls' legs bend and they can twist at the waist, but the arms are immobile. The parts that come with this set are big enough that I feel comfortable letting my baby play with them too. I love that it comes with so many pieces; it really offers a lot of creative options. It doesnt' all quite fit in easily into the camper for storage, but I'd recommend this to any boy or girl who need a more grown up pretend play toy.

Great Pretend Play Mar 03, 2008
By Sherry Y. Artemenko As a speech and language expert at Play on Words, I am always seeking good toys that enhance language development: Looking for adventure? Hop into your purple car, grab the cooler and head for the campsite! This Fisher-Price little people set has all the ingredients for great creative play. Sarah Lynn and Maggie can relax by the campfire in their lounge chairs, drop the fishing line into the lake, cook dinner over the open fire or pop open the camper and climb into their sleeping bags. After their stay at the campsite, they can load the cooler, chairs and fishing rod into the camper and drive home. Don't we like toys that hold all the pieces?
Designed for children ages 2-5, this play set hits the sweet spot for pretend play. A 2 year-old will enjoy manipulating the people and pieces and imitating real life, while a 3 year-old will take the figures and animate them, using voices to talk back and forth. Join your child's pretend play by "being" one of the figures and following the action. Research shows that a child's level of play is raised when an adult joins in. But, remember to follow your child's lead, giving them the opportunity to create and tap their imagination.
As the parent you want to be the "producer" not the "director" of your child's play. Being the producer, you provide a variety of props such as people, food, vehicles, furniture etc to stimulate her imagination and start the story telling. Step back and watch the creativity begin. Don't jump in and direct the action by suggesting the story direction but follow your child's lead. Your child's language will be enhanced through pretend play.Imaginative play stimulates language. Children who create stories with toys and props, like "Sarah Lynn and her Camping Adventure," are practicing with language and become good storytellers and eventually enthusiastic writers.

Sarah Lynn and her camping adventure was a big hit with.. Jan 07, 2008
By Sue Anderson Sarah Lynn and Her Camping Adventure set was a big hit with my 3 year old granddaughter as well as her older brothers (who are well beyond the "little people" age at 8 & 10!). They have a similar style of camper and they had fun arranging the campsite, listening to the crickets chirp and playing "camping" alone and together. The pieces were well chosen to complete the set and the price was very reasonable.

cool camper Jan 23, 2011 would have been cool to have this not be so PINK, boys and girls alike like to camp, you will sell more if you kept the colors true to real camping, grandsons like it though and are having fun.

I wish the colors were more neutral - for the boy campers!! :) Jan 06, 2009
By Andrew's mommy This is a very fun toy and it comes with a lot of extra pieces to make the camping experience more engaging. I bought this for my son because I could not find any 'boy' campers for a 2.5 year old. He does not care that it is pink and purple and covered in hearts and butterflies but I think the colors should have been more neutral, just like the house and barn. The girls got the Little People Castle and I think that camping is pretty much for both boys and girls. Overall, it is a great toy that is made of durable materials.
