Crayola Sparkle Cutter Review Jan 02, 2008
By Michelle J. Littlefield The cutter is more of a perforator, but it does seem to do what it says it will do. I am a little worried about the life of the blade when being used by my 8 yr old. She began by holding the cutter at too much of an angle and the blade seems to be a bit bent. Apparently you need to hold it at a 90 degree angle and you really don't have to push that hard. She also seemed to go too fast and the blade couldn't keep up. Translation - you don't get a good perf and the item you are cutting will tear when you try to separate it.
Not a bad purchase by any means. I just hope it will survive her creative streak!

Waste of time and money Dec 27, 2007

I bought 3 of these for my grandkids. It's a waste. Doesn't cut so that it can be punched out. The items they have included can be punched out by dropping. I have returned all of them. I have never seen anything that the children were more disappointed in.

Very creative! Dec 30, 2007
By T. Wilson Our 5 year old is into the artsy and crafty stage. She received this for Christmas and loves it. The idea of a safe way to cut out various shapes without scissors is great. The cutter is very handy for little hands.

Waste of money Jun 23, 2008
By Skyjuly I got a couple of these to use at a kids camp. It's more of a novelty for the kids than an effective cutting tool. Cool in concept, lousy in execution. Seems to be based on the idea of a tattoo needle. The loud, hand-held needle punch roughs up the edges--the pieces can't be neatly punched out. Didn't work well on any of the papers included in the kit. This one needs to go back to engineering.
not worth the money Dec 14, 2009

I wasted my money on this one. I bought it before all the bad reviews, so I had to find out for myself how bad it was. My daughter and I tried to do the project with the sun and i ended up using an exacto knife to cut it out. The purpose of this was to not have to use an exacto knife and have something safe for my child to use, so I won't have to do the project myself. This was definitely a total waste of money. It wouldn't even be worth it if they lowered the price.. Maybe if the product worked it would be worth something.
