5nothing resembling real ravioli, but definitely kid comfort food  Sep 24, 2007 By Jewelry Lover "me"
I bought a case of these on sale. I haven't eaten them since college. I grabbed the last can (<2 weeks after they arrived) and sat down to enjoy it. The microwave can/lid works really well. Nothing spilled, no mess to clean up. The ravioli could have had meat (as advertised) cheese or even spinach inside... it's really hard to tell. The pasta is soft and gooey. My kids are begging for more. This must be kid comfort food.

Somehow I doubt it's really nutritious. I believe everything in moderation is ok though... Think I'll wait for a few months before ordering another case.

1Just GROSS...  Jan 30, 2012 By BargainGal "BargainGal"
I really wasn't expecting much. Just something relatively tasty and quick to make. I would normally steer clear of Chef Boyardee but the reviews were good as well as the price so I thought I would take a chance. I have no idea how this could have a 4.5 star rating, and I have to wonder what the culinary standards are across the US.

Let's start with the sauce. First of all it's brown, thin, insipid, and lacking any tomato taste. There's some tasteless gristle in there that I guess is supposed to pass as meat. The ravioli themselves have a texture I've never before encounted in pasta. I have no idea how they hold together being that soft. I wasn't expecting al dente, but this is at the other extreme. It's mushy and slimy. It didn't even know there WAS a stage of pasta like this. It has no texture to it at all and becomes a gummy, pasty mess in the mouth. There looks to be generous filling but I have no idea what it's made of. The generous 'meat' filling shown got me to buy it but it has no taste of meat at all.

I don't know how any mother with a conscience can feed this to her kids. I don't know how anyone with taste buds can feed this to themselves. There HAS to be better options than this for quick ravioli. There certainly can't be any worse ones!!!

4Great snack  Oct 17, 2007 By Carle C. Henson
Makes a great snack or small meal. I wish it had more protein. I have had gastric bypass surgery so I have trouble getting enough protein but I enjoy these raviolis.

5Another good tasting meal from the Chef  Mar 24, 2008 By D. Johnson "Chi-Town Dale"
Tastes as good as the canned version. Only thing is, I'd like to see them a bit larger like 10 Oz. The choices now are 7.5 and 14.25 Oz. That is too big. 10 Oz would be just right.

4my 10 year old loves them....  Sep 18, 2007 By retroredux
Mini Ravioli's were something I liked as a child and now my son loves them too. While I wouldn't recommend them for your childs main nutrition, I think they are great for a after school snack or a mini meal on the weekend. They are very easy to prepare, less than a minute and they are done. Unlike the can version I like the easy clean up aspect of the container-especially nice for a quick on the go meal for RV'ers.

I recommended this product.
