Good entry level Tournament Racket Oct 17, 2008
By ScottyBear I bought this Xstar racket to replace my BF Carlos Chiu racket which the rubber fell apart within a couple of weeks. So far this one is much more sturdier (probably due to the lengthened tape to prevent peel off rubber off the table). This is one of the few fully assembled entry level tournament rackets with Flextra Rubber. The wood is a high quality multiple ply and is rather light weight. The handle is also flanged which makes it a bit easier to use forehand low off the table. It takes a bit of getting use to compared to the cheaper Butterfly Rackets, but my game is slowly improving (was able to return quite a few slams), and top and back spins are not too difficult.

Low End Pro Racket Aug 01, 2006

One of those premade rackets that fell short to my expectations. Its definitely light but the basswood and Flextra with 2.0mm sponge did not give the desired offensive spin, and if you do not force your defensive stroke, the opponents spin will bite. Unlike the harder/heavier Akazie used with Flextra in Casaba, where your spin is far greater and defensive returns are more controlled. I use this racket to warm me up in the RoboPong, the Flexra rubber is by far the most fragile rubber, in time the edges will crumble and becomes brittle, not suited for contant speed gluing - I ripped this and the Tackifire while removing. Overall, I'd go for the Casaba. Maybe this is the reason why of all the Pro series this is the only racket who do not have a pro player name.

The paddle is alright... Not worth the money.. It bites hard on players offensive spins if u don't give a good return spin. Struggles with control too..
