4Great low volume mask - for underwater hockey!  Mar 24, 2009 By E. T. Martin "ebbmart"
I use this mask for underwater hockey only (Go MN Loons!); im not a free diver, nor do I scuba (much). Wide view angle, low profile avoids snagging. I paired it with a modified Omersub snorkel (cut short), and polypropylene webbing 3 pt mask strap - great for keeping it on my face, where it belongs.
Possible downsides:
Plastic lenses will scratch (solution: keep it in the included case!) and possibly pop out or leak (not yet, but I hear it happens).
Low volume means little to no protection of the nose and nose bridge in the event of a fin to the face. bruising likely.
I forgot to shave last time I wore the mask during practice and I suffered some leaking... the seal is pretty flexi.

5The BEST mask for Freediving!  Jun 29, 2007 By Todd W. Storey
The Sphera is a PERFECT choice for freediving (which is why so many world record holders are diving with them now). It's very light and extremely low volume, so equalizing it takes almost no effort. Plus, being flexible, it will actually flex around your face BEFORE mask squeeze becomes a painful problem; I've taken it down to over 30' before I even HAD to equalize it. The curved lenses are great, as they afford a fantastic field of vision. They do cause a bit of distortion on the sides, but you soon adjust to it. When diving on a line, it's not noticable at all, since you're looking straight ahead. The only cons of this mask are that the lenses are plastic, and prone to scratches (keep it in it's case when not in use), and the mask does wear out and lose it's shape in about a year's time, requiring the purchase of a new one. All in all, it's a FANTASTIC freediving mask.

5One of the best freedive spearfishing masks.....  Apr 30, 2009 By Dave P
I recently purchased the Aqua Sphera mask (by a recommendation from a friend) and have gotten to use it a few times since then. My normal masks were a Cressi Matrix, a Cressi Occhio Plus and a Sporasub Samurai.
I really like this mask a lot. It has a wonderful field of view, almost as if you aren't wearing a mask at all. The plastic lenses scratch a bit, but in the water the scratches fill in and aren't there.
The Matrix has a nice field of view, but isn't super low volume. Good for scuba and shallow freediving. The Occhio Plus has low volume and a pretty good field of view, but seems to be a bit finicky. The Samurai has very low volume, but a pretty poor field of view. The Aqua Sphera has a great field of view, and super low volume. I didn't notice any distortion (the matrix has more distortion than this mask), but it is a little claustrophobic in the begining, until you get used to the mask being so close to your face. I found it great for deeper freediving (50'+), as it is easy to equalize, and works well for scuba.
I would recommend this mask for anyone that is interested in freediving, spearfishing, and scuba. I'm very pleased with my purchase, especially the low price..... masks are expensive these days and this one is a gem.

5Great mask  May 08, 2012 By Y.
Very comfortable mask. Lenses are easy to scratch, but I knew that. Perfect for freediving, internal volume is very small. Silicone skirt is wide and comfortable.

The first couple of times I tried it I felt like if I was drunk because of the distortion created by the curved lenses, but you get used to it pretty fast.

Like them a lot for freediving, but for scuba diving I prefer the aqualung micromask because of the glass lenses.

3Below Aqua Sphere's Standards  Jan 07, 2012 By R. Miller
I had high hope for this mask.

I've used and reviewed Aqua Sphere Kayenne goggle and gave it a raving 5-star review. I expected that same level of product here. Sadly, these just arn't as good.

This fit is okay, but:

The flimsy strap doesn't play well with snorkels.

The lenses are plastic, which isn't always a bad thing, but on a mask I have a higher standard for clarity than I do with goggles. When I snorkel, I want to see very clearly (otherwise, what's the point?).

The side skirt leaks on the snorkel side.

Something about the nose pocket causes me to get water up my nose.

In fact, this mask merits the third star only because it's so light.

I'm still looking for a great low-volume mask--this isn't it.
